Comprehensive Operator Training. Tailored to Your Workplace.
With the Forklift Operator Class from FTS, your team gets training that covers:
- All seven classes of powered industrial trucks (PIT).
- Safety coverage for fundamental operations, pedestrians, and the operators themselves.
- Operator responsibilities for hazard recognition, OSHA compliant behavior, and legal liability.
- Where and who to talk to for support (that’s us).
Forklift Training Systems runs more than just a standardized operating training course. Our pre-training process for onsite training includes:
- Completion of a training survey to determine what topics apply to your site and forklifts.
- Discussion of topics which you feel are critical and identification of areas where you need safety improvement.
- A walkthrough of your site to make suggestions for improving forklift safety and OSHA compliance.
- Take pictures of your forklifts, so that our program becomes YOUR custom program.

Forklift hands-on evaluations are always conducted at your site and on your forklifts, as required by OSHA. Many times, we have forklift operators in class who have been driving forklifts for decades. For example, it’s not uncommon to hear them comment this is the best safety training of any type they have EVER had.
Many companies conduct forklift operator training. Very few run training courses capable of changing operators’ behaviors.
Our customers count us among their most reliable vendors. Based on quality of instruction, willingness to help improve safety at their site and the ability to manage each training project. Due to the current OSHA standards, we only offer forklift operator training for companies. We don’t offer forklift training to individuals outside of a company setting. OSHA requires site- and equipment-specific training, as well as conducting hands-on evaluations at the customer site, on their equipment.
